Hannah’s Manchester Weekender
Posted on September 22, 2010
Manchester Camerata’s principal cellist Hannah Roberts is teaming up with sound artist Andrew Deakin in a live collaborative performance in The Northern Quarter’s Madlab as part The Manchester Weekender.
Hannah is widely recognised as one of the outstanding cellists of her generation, and the performance will see Hannah and Andrew kaleidoscopically explore Bach’s stunning unaccompanied Cello Suites.
CreativeTourist.com has tipped this as one of their ‘Top 5′ music events. We can’t wait! The Manchester Weekender event runs from 1-3 October 2010 and consists of 48 hours of music, art, film, food, literature, walks, politics, photography and spectacle all wrapped up into a single weekend. |
Manchester Camerata’s involvement in this event is a collaboration with FutureEverything – an award winning art, technology and social innovation organisation that runs year-round innovation labs and an annual festival of art, music and ideas.
It has a very strong global network and international profile, and is recognised around the world for leading pioneering projects and important international debates. |
Sound Artist Andrew Deakin talks to Manus Carey about the event, his love of Bach and about the techniques he uses. |
