Legacy gifts allow Manchester Camerata to plan for the future and make sure that all of our work will continue for many years to come.

The Manchester Camerata Trust (registered charity no. 519574) was established to support the activities of Manchester Camerata Ltd and receives all legacies made to Manchester Camerata. The Trust seeks to support Manchester Camerata in extraordinary circumstances, when undertaking extraordinary projects and when delivering learning and participation work.

In recent years, the Trust has supported:

  • New music – performances of works by Thomas Ades, Sally Beamish and Oswaldo Golijov
  • Extraordinary projects – Manchester Camerata’s move to offices and rehearsal facilities at the RNCM in 2007
  • Learning projects – Dido & Aeneas prequel To Carthage in 2008/09, and the Writing on the Wall in 2009/10

Gifts given in this way will make a huge difference to the future of the orchestra and ensure that we are able to continue entertaining, uplifting and educating for many, many years to come.

Christa was very much related to education during her lifetime. There is no doubt that she would have been happy to have her legacy invested in education. For me and my family, it is a great pleasure and honour to know that Christa will be remembered through her legacy to Manchester Camerata Trust.

Thomas Groessinger on behalf of the late Christa Groessinger, Friend of Manchester Camerata

It’s been my great pleasure to be part of Manchester Camerata for many years! Throughout this time, my family and I have always enjoyed knowing that our support is helping to keep Camerata doing what it does best – giving world-class performances and touching the lives of many through education work.

Having been Chairman of the Manchester Camerata Trust, I am able to fully appreciate recent educational and artistic initiatives made possible by legacies from generous benefactors, among them my late wife, Helen. It’s the role of the Camerata Trust to provide a bed-rock of long-term support for our wonderful orchestra. I have already made provision to support the orchestra in my will and would commend others to support in this practical way too.

Michael Grindrod, Patron of Manchester Camerata
