Manchester Camerata’s PICTURES FROM ST PETERSBURG concert on 23 October 2010 at the RNCM was already destined to be a very special occasion. But thanks to the latest digital technology it’ll be beamed into Manchester City Centre, and will be seen around the world online.
Featuring the orchestra’s future Music Director, Gábor Takács-Nagy, newly appointed Leader Giovanni Guzzo and world renowned cellist Miklos Perényi, and including a première by one of the country’s leading young composers, Nina Whiteman, the concert is certain to be a very special occasion.
Thanks to the very latest technology, the event will also be beamed into the heart of Manchester’s city centre via the BBC Big Screen in Exchange Square. Not only that – but it can be seen online via internet streaming at www.archive.manchestercamerata.co.uk and www.medici.tv.
Manchester Camerata’s Chief Executive, Bob Riley, says “Our aim is to deliver a programme of musical experiences fit for the 21st century, reaching new audiences and using the latest technology.”
“We are thrilled that we’re going to be able to share this momentous occasion – when these two great international musicians, Gábor Takács-Nagy and Miklos Perényi playing here together for the first time – with a wider audience online and in Manchester’s city centre. Nothing can replace the experience of a live orchestra in concert but we are delighted that our music is being taken out to those who can’t come and join us in the concert Hall.
