Countdown to Camerata and Boyd’s B9
Posted on January 2, 2011
Camerata and Boyd save the ultimate challenge until last… We’re entering the final stage of Douglas Boyd’s tenure as Music Director of Manchester Camerata.
Saturday 29 January 2011 is the date for your diary – The Bridgewater Hall at 7.30pm. It promises to be a breathtaking experience.
Manchester Camerata perform Beethoven’s very first string quartet alongside the composer’s last symphony, showing his supremacy in two very different musical forms. Charismatic Music Director Douglas Boyd conducts this unforgettable and monumental event. Gramophone magazine described Camerata’s performances of Beethoven’s Symphonies as: ‘gutsy, powerful, vivid – this Mancunian Beethoven is something special’. Manchester Camerata is joined for the evening by the CBSO Chorus, and soloists Rebecca von Lipinski, Anna Grevelius, Peter Wedd and Roderick Williams. |
