LEARNING: Camerata’s Chester Mystery

Manchester Camerata is working in partnership with Chester Mystery Plays as part of the HLF funded Sharing the Mystery project and is coming to Chester looking for people of all ages and abilities to join them in creating and producing their own musical play! |

| Mystery Plays are part of local and theatrical heritage – they tell Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments which, in turn, echo stories from other world religions. Taking inspiration from the themes of Noye’s Fludde (Noah’s Flood), one of the original Chester Mystery Plays, you could be inventing your own adaptation of the story.
Collaborating with a professional composer/musical director, dramatist and Manchester Camerata musicians this project promises to be an exciting weekend for everyone, bringing your ideas to life. No previous experience is required, just bring your enthusiasm. The workshops will be taking place in Chester over Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October 2011. The weekend will culminate in a performance of the play on the Sunday evening where you can showcase your new work to family and friends. The project is free of charge to all.
