LEARNING: Wigan’s Magic Flute
Posted on August 2, 2011
This summer, primary school children from across Wigan will work with a Musical Director, Dramatist and musicians from Camerata to create a modern version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, using themes from the opera as a stimulus for the creation of their new work. |
Over a four day long residency in Wigan from 30th August, participants from primary schools across the district will be working with Musical Director Eve Harrison, Dramatist Anna Jewitt and Camerata musicians to create their own modern interpretation of Mozart’s famous opera The Magic Flute.
This project promises to be an excellent opportunity for the participants to experience creative arts disciplines outside of their school based learning and to create, rehearse and perform alongside professional artists. The children will give a final performance of their creative piece of musical theatre in front of an audience of family and friends. |
