Nicola Benedetti and Camerata in Harrogate

One of the most exciting young performers of our times, the Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti joined Manchester Camerata on Saturday in Harrogate for a thrilling evening of music presented with the Harrogate Choral Society. |

| The young Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti – just a few days ago voted by the Evening Standard one of London’s most influential people – played to a sell-out crowd at the Royal Hall in Harrogate on Saturday 12 November 2011.
Part of a regular and ongoing relationship with the Harrogate Choral Society, Camerata presented an all Mozart programme featuring conductor Andrew Padmore. Nicola won over the audience with a very delicate performance of Mozart’s Fifth Violin Concerto, followed by an encore of solo Bach. The rest of the programme featured Mozart’s Requiem and two smaller choral works by Mozart, Sancta Maria and Ave Verum. The Next concert with the Harrogate Choral Society will be at the Royal Hall on Saturday 3 December – it will be the ever popular Handel Messiah. For the performance, Manchester Camerata will once again be conducted by Andrew Padmore, who’ll be joined by soprano Elizabeth Craggs, countertenor Robert Ogden, tenor Timothy Hill, and bass Duncan Rock. |
