Stockport Lullabies

Working with musicians from Manchester Camerata, early years children and their parents have been exploring music through traditional song and lullabies.

Manchester Camerata, supported by the Brian Kennedy Trust, created a project for parents and early years children at Stockport Art Gallery.

The sessions – involving Cellist Emma Dixon and Violinist gemma Bass – encouraged parents and small children to use music together, to help in strengthening relationships, as well as assisting in developing language, musical skills and physical co-ordination in very young children.

The sessions ran for 10 weeks from February and all parents were given a booklet of lyrics from the sessions to take away at the end.
