Is Your Name On The Guest List?

Manchester Camerata is looking to attract new supporters by offering a unique new experience with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to its musicians and guest artists.
The Guest List has been developed jointly by Camerata’s Head of Corporate Partnerships & Philanthropy, Claire Barlow and Guest List founding members Stephen and Jane Sorrell following an informal conversation at a previous Camerata event. Sorrell, Partner, Real Estate at Eversheds LLP, and his wife Jane were keen to support the orchestra but wanted a more interactive and personal relationship with the musicians and exceptional artists with whom the orchestra collaborates.
As Stephen Sorrell explains ‘Today’s audience members want the opportunity to get closer to the action and really understand how great art is created. That’s why we helped found ‘The Guest List’ which offers Camerata’s supporters the amazing hands-on experience of what it’s like to be in an orchestral rehearsal and even on stage with the musicians.’
The new scheme reflects Manchester Camerata’s vision to redefine what an orchestra can do, and The Guest List is one of many ways to involve individuals more closely in the organisation’s journey. Membership is £1000 for an individual or £1500 for joint membership. The orchestra also recently launched a club for businesses called Camerata Connect which was created to encourage the exchange of innovative ideas between the orchestra and corporate communities.
As a registered charity, both schemes are invaluable to the orchestra’s continual and ambitious growth. Camerata’s first concert of an eclectic 2014-15 season features superstar violinist Nicola Benedetti performing Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons at The Bridgewater Hall on Saturday 20 September.
Manchester Camerata launched The Guest List at an exclusive Season Preview event at The Hilton, Deansgate, on 16 September.
