“I had the great privilege to perform my first John Passion with Nicholas Kraemer (some years ago!) and so it is an enormous honour to be able to perform this piece with him again. In addition, the opportunity to work with Manchester Camerata and be amongst a dream cast of fellow soloists makes this a concert I am looking forward to enormously.” – Andrew Staples
Post-concert: ENCORE, 9.30pm
Bach’s remarkably powerful St. John Passion, with an international line up of soloists and one of the North West’s leading choral ensembles, the St George’s Singers. Bach’s masterpiece is a dramatic representation of the Passion, as told in the Gospel of John, conveying the last hours of Jesus’ life with startling and expressive immediacy.
