The traditional Cholmondeley Fireworks concertwill be a special celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee and will feature music associated with the Coronation including the Coronation March from Walton’s Crown Imperial. Also celebrated is the 50th anniversary of the 007 films, with some of the best music from Live and Let Die, Diamonds are Forever and Goldfinger.
As usual the programme will continue in ‘Last Night of the Proms’ style with Rule, Britannia, Jerusalemand Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance. Back by popular demand will be the helicopters flypast to ‘Ride of the Valkyries’ and as tradition dictates the evening will culminate with a spectacular fireworks finale accompanying Tchaikovsky’s 1812Overture.
The breathtaking beauty of the Castle, set in picturesque grounds will provide the backdrop to this unmissable event. Bring along chairs and a picnic to enjoy from the Castle Lawn. Everything is open for you to explore from 4pm.
