Mozart Brahms In Colne
Date: Sunday 20th April 2014 14:30
Venue: The Muni Theatre, Colne
Three lyrical masterpieces from three masters of chamber composition. Mozart&s 1787 G minor String Quintet is a dark, brooding and melancholic work. Brahms& second String Quintet in G major, dating from 100 years later, was written in the idyllic country setting of Bad Ischl in Austria. Gorgeously rich with endless melodies, this late work shows Brahms at his most inventive. Hugo Wolf&s sunny Italian Serenade for String Quartet completes the programme.
