Manchester Camerata At The Lake District Summer Music Festival

Manchester Cameratareturn to the Lake District for the 2013 International Festival’s triumphant finale. Directed by the acclaimed violinist Isabelle van Keulen, the programme features the music of Wagner and Britten. The Siegfried Idyll was written as a gift for Cosima when their son was born. Its 13-strong instrumentation is the model on which Britten wrote his Sinfonietta. Using wind and strings they surmount the peaks of chamber music. Schubert’s Octet in Fcompletes the celebratory programme.

This concert is supported by Mr Bruce Pimlott in loving memory of his wife Elspeth.
