David Bowie Reimagined – Festival No.6
Date: Sunday 04th September 2016 19:00
Venue: Portmeirion
We’re delighted to be playing at Festival No.6 in Portmeirion for a very special tribute to David Bowie. The festival has commissioned No.6 composer-in-residence Joe Duddell to work with the world famous Manchester Camerata chamber orchestra on an exclusive David Bowie Reimagined performance. This exclusive work will feature arrangements of iconic songs from across Bowie&s career, with very special guests on each song, in what promises to be one of the highlights of this year festival season.
Taking to the stage in what is certain to be a moving paean to one of the world&s most innovative and respected performers are a diverse group of artists including Charlotte Church, Jacqui Abbott (The Beautiful South), Jane Weaver, Lucy Rose and Nadine Shah.
Joining us on the stage, No.6 have put together a very special house band featuring Larry Gott from James on guitar, bassist Nathan Sudders (Guy Garvey band/The Whip), Dave Maric (Steve Martland band) on piano and Pete Marshall (Paul Heaton Jacqui Abbott) on drums.
Festival No.6 is an intimate, bespoke banquet of music, arts and culture taking place over the weekend of the 1-4 September 2016 in the magical village of Portmeirion, Wales, home of the cult TV series The Prisoner.
Acts will perform across the entire site, by the whimsical Italianate architecture of the village, the historic town hall, piazza, Bristol Colonnade, the picturesque Estuary stage, the atmospheric woods and the promenade along the River Dwyryd.
