For years, confusion reigned over the true identity of the composer of Cello Concerto No.2 in D Major — was it Haydn or Kraft? What was never in doubt though was the brilliance of the piece or the talents of the two potential composers. Istvan Vardai brings with him the 1673 Stradivari ‘Du pre-Harrell’ cello and Gábor will bring crystal clarity to this cello-centric programme that is sure to delight. This is a perfect collaboration because these two Hungarians come at music with the same fantastic sense of passion and wonderment.
