Bill Ryder-Jones

Last night saw a wonderful collaberation with Bill Ryder-Jones, and Manchester Literature Festival in the beautiful surroundings of Manchester Cathedral, complete with a pop-up bar from BrewDog.

Manchester Confidential

“He has come a long way from the scally pirate exuberance (I fondly recall Skeleton Crew and the like) of The Coral’s debut back in the early Noughties.”

“The final memory, though, is of the always diffident Ryder-Jones, a beer can in his hand when not playing guitar, shuffling off amid ecstatic applause and eschewing those repeated curtain calls that are de rigueur at classical concerts. Literature. Cinema. Subversion. A triumph.”

Get Into This

“It was astonishing; the sound engineer and the spiritual air of the Cathedral, meddled with the sounds issuing forth from the Manchester Camerata Orchestra to cast spells. The sound was sumptuous and seemingly to our ears, note perfect in recreating the majesty of the record.”

“Tonight felt special. It was special. If there is a second coming, you just have to be there.”

Silent Radio

“The Camerata sound glorious throughout but the unique juxtaposition of Bill playing and singing alongside them really make this evening a success.”

“At the show’s close rapturous applause rings out for a solid couple of minutes and those on stage deserve every second of it. Marvellous.”

Audience Review

“The Manchester Camerata with conductor Timothy Redmond absolutely blew me away.”

“I was very impressed with the whole evening.”
