ACE G4A Funding Announced For Two Projects
Posted on October 16, 2014
Manchester Camerata has recently had confirmation from Arts Council England (ACE) that two bids for Grants for the Arts Funding have been successful.
The first G4A is for a four date tour in December with former Groove Armada singer Saint Saviour and Bill Ryder Jones. Saint Saviour will be performing tracks from her new album, ‘In the Seams’ with string accompaniment from Camerata’s Principal Musicians. The album was recorded earlier this year at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios, with Bill Ryder Jones producing. Ryder-Jones, former lead guitarist with The Coral will be appearing as co-headliner on the tour which takes in dates in Stockton (4 Dec), Manchester (6 Dec), London (12 Dec) and Liverpool (13 Dec). Bill Ryder-Jones recently performed his album If… live for the first time with Manchester Camerata as part of Manchester Literature Festival.
The second project is a partnership initiative with Cumbria Music Education Hub and national music charity Orchestras Live called First Time Live that will give young people from the Dalton and Barrow in Furness areas the opportunity to create and manage every aspect of a live concert, from deciding what music is played, to marketing the event and producing it on the day. The two concerts featuring the orchestra will take place on 5 March at the Forum in Barrow to an audience of local primary school children. The concert will also be streamed live digitally to primary schools unable to attend.
