Manchester Camerata is delivering big international names to audiences in October
Manchester Camerata’s new Leader, the young Venezuelan/Italian violinist Giovanni Guzzo, and the orchestra’s Music Director designate, the great Hungarian musician Gábor Takács-Nagy, perform together in the UK for the first time this month.
You can catch them in Manchester on Saturday 23 October at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), and before that in Ulverston at the Coronation Hall two days earlier on Thursday 21 October. Add in the presence of a musician of the stature of Hungarian cellist Miklós Perényi – whose July recital at the Wigmore Hall attracted such rave reviews – and you have all the ingredients for a concert fizzing with excitement from start to finish. |
Takács-Nagy and Perényi are old friends as well as musical colleagues and no doubt their collaboration in Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, in which Perényi is the soloist, will be informed by the warm spirit of their friendship.
Likewise Takács-Nagy and Giovanni Guzzo – who have performed together abroad on a number of occasions but never before in the UK – share a mutual respect which shines through their music-making.
