Camerata hits the Big Screen in Manchester

Manchester Camerata’s concert on 23 October 2010 will be bursting out of the concert hall and be seen on a big screen in Exhange Square.
Inside the RNCM Concert Hall – Enjoy an evening of introductions; meet Camerata’s future Music Director (from September 2011), the great Hungarian musician Gábor Takács-Nagy, and newly appointed Leader, Venezuelan/Italian violinist and rising star Giovanni Guzzo. Miklós Perényi, one of the truly great cellists of his generation, makes his debut performance with the orchestra in this special programme which is deeply rooted in the city of St. Petersburg.
And also enjoy the concert in Exchange Square in Manchester, beamed onto the Big Screen.
Big Screen Manchester was the first Big Screen within the pilot project to be launched in May 2003. Due to their success Manchester became the first permanent screen and from this the network has grown. Big Screen Manchester is housed in a busy public area of Manchester, Exchange Square, regenerated after the IRA bomb in 1996. A new Big Screen has just been installed in Exchange Square, replacing the 7-year-old original screen.
