Camerata Return to Cholmondeley

Posted on May 11, 2009

Manchester Camerata will be performing at the annual Fireworks Concert at Cholmondeley Castle on Saturday 18 July, bringing the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power – a weekend of motorsport, air displays and powerboat racing – to a close.

Providing an additional twist to the annual extravaganza, this year’s display will take the form of a Military Tattoo with spine-tingling musical accompaniment courtesy of Manchester Camerata. Highlights of the programme include Bizet’sToreador’s Song from Carmen, Wagner’s ‘Ride of the Valkyries’, and Goodwin’s ‘Where Eagles Dare’. The big bang spectacular will culminate in Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with real cannon fire by the 103 Regiment Royal Artillery.

The breathtaking beauty of the picturesque grounds and romantic Castle provide the perfect background to a wonderful summer night that is not to be missed, so make sure you are there to enjoy the Concert and amazing fireworks display from the Castle Lawn!

Gates open at 4.00pm and the music starts at 6.30pm.
