Posted on February 4, 2014
Manchester Camerata is delighted to announce the support of property development and investment company Citygrove for In Harmony, a joint learning project in conjunction with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Staffordshire Performing Arts, Stoke on Trent Music Service and Telford and Wrekin Music. Citygrove’s sponsorship is vital for the success of the project and means the In Harmony has been able to reach many more children in and around Telford.
In Harmony is an innovative project to introduce and encourage young people in Telford and Wrekin and Stoke on Trent to learn music and make music together. In Harmony is a national programme based on the Venezuelan El Sistema, which aims to inspire and transform the lives of children in deprived communities by using the power and disciplines of community-based orchestral music making.
Tony Baines, Chairman of Citygrove says, “Citygrove is delighted to be supporting such an exciting and interesting initiative.”
Claire Barlow, Head of Corporate Partnerships for Manchester Camerata says, “Manchester Camerata is an ambitious orchestra, performing to 70,000 people annually and reaching over 15,000 people each year through our award winning Learning and Participation programme. In Harmony is a very important strand of our work and we are extremely lucky to have the support of Citygrove.”
