Congratulations to Dr. Robyn Dowlen on Receiving her PhD on Improving the Lives of People Living with Dementia Through Music
Posted on February 26, 2019
Here’s what Robyn has to say about her new title:
‘I was awarded my PhD titled “The ‘In the Moment’ Benefits of Music for People with Dementia: A Multiple-Case Study Approach” in January this year. The research highlighted the creativity of people living with dementia, and how Music in Mind enabled people with dementia to share their musical stories and develop strong relationships ‘in the moment’. I observed the role of the skilled Music in Mind practitioners who were empathetic and passionate, creating a failure free musical environment where people with dementia could flourish. I am looking forward to working with Manchester Camerata in communicating the findings from the research and I am currently in the process of developing post-doctoral applications in order to continue the collaborative research partnership between myself and Manchester Camerata. If you are interested in finding out more, please feel free to contact me via email (robyn.dowlen@manchester.ac.uk) or you can follow me on twitter (@robyndowlen).’
