Manchester Camerata has a strong team of directors who play a crucial role in guiding the business of the orchestra at a particularly challenging time. They oversee the development of policy, strategy and operations – underpinning the orchestras sense of purpose and direction. They work closely with the Artistic Team to manage and develop the company helping to make it one of the most exciting and forward thinking music organisations in the country. |

Helen has worked in Manchester and the North West of England for nearly 20 years in cultural and tourism marketing. She originally graduated with a B.A. (Hons) Tourism Studies and gained the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma. She has worked for or with most of the cultural venues in the Manchester area and many of the city’s leading festivals and events. After working in theatre marketing and PR for the Royal Exchange Theatre and the Library Theatre Company and setting up the marketing operation for The Lowry prior to its opening, Helen set up her own marketing consultancy business 10 years ago. Her twin brother Andrew joined her company 4 years ago to form Palmer Squared specialising in arts and cultural tourism marketing. Clients include museums, galleries, performing arts venues, festivals, events, tourist boards, local authorities, and regional development agencies. Helen worked on Cultureshock (Commonwealth Games Cultural Programme) and led the marketing team for the inaugural Manchester International Festival which launched in 2007. She is now the Director of Strategic Marketing for Marketing Manchester working on a variety of projects across the city with a range of strategic partner agencies. Current clients include Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery in Carlisle, the British Ceramics Biennial in Stoke, and Salford City Council. She has also just been awarded an M.A. (Humanities) with Distinction specialising in British and American film history. |
