Hannah Roberts Biography

Manchester Camerata Principal Cellist Hannah Roberts performs regularly as a soloist for Manchester Camerata.

Hannah Roberts is one of the outstanding young artists of her generation. She was privileged to study with the late William Pleeth and Ralph Kirshbaum, and to perform as chamber musician with such musical legends as Lord Menuhin and Louis Kentner.

Hannah has made numerous concerto appearances with the London Mozart Players, LSO, BBC Concert Orchestra, Halle Orchestra and Manchester Camerata, and has performed widely at prestigious festivals including Malvern, Beverley, Chichester and the Manchester International ‘Cello Festival.

Notable awards include the Jacqueline Du Pre Memorial Award, the Pierre Fournier Award, and with pianist, composer and duo partner Simon Parkin, the Morley College Centenary Concerto Prize.

Hannah is a committed and highly sought after teacher and is on the faculties of the RNCM and Chethams school.
