Learning with Manchester Camerata |
Learning is at the heart of what we do. Each year we strive to create a flagship education project which is interwoven with the season theme. In the year ahead this is `Portraits in Music`. Our creative learning programme is an integral part of our season and we’ll be working with people from across the North West and Greater Manchester, in both schools and the wider community, during the year, taking inspiration from our local environment to create a giant photographic and musical map of the region. |
But that’s just a fraction of what we do. Browse our Recent Projects to how we reach so many areas of society who perhaps have no direct access to music making of any kind. |
Our Camerata Live scheme allows us to offer a limited number of FREE tickets to schools and colleges across the region to give as wide a groups as possible the chance to experience what we do. For the younger members of the community we have the Kids Club which introduces children to the world of the orchestra. It’s FREE to sign up! |
For students across the region we have the Sonic Card which offers discounted tickets to concerts offered by Manchester Camerata, the BBC Phil, and the Halle! Again, this scheme is free to join. |
For the more experienced amateur musicians we offer the experience of The Cameo Orchestra. The orchestra meets twice a season and encourages musicians of all levels to get involved and play at a professional level. |
In addition to all this, we offer Study Days and Lectures and Pre-Concert Talks to unlock the stories behind the music we play! |
Camerata is proud to build on our reputation for peeling back some of the mystique of music, unveiling two new programme strands: Unwrapped gives you a chance to be guided through a piece of music by Gábor Takács-Nagy and Camerata’s musicians before a complete performance; while UpClose is an intimate and laidback series of chamber concerts, presented in collaboration with visual artist John Hyatt, in smaller venues around the city. Unusual events in unusual places, getting you closer to the action. Watch this space for details |
So many ways to discover the music of Manchester Camerata. |
