Live at The Bridgewater Hall

In 2008, The Bridgewater Hall commissioned William Ellis, one of the world’s leading music photographers, to capture the artistic life of the Hall.

William Ellis was given exclusive access to photograph many of the Hall’s artists in performance and backstage. The result is a compelling collection of images which reflect the diversity of the Hall’s programming, capture the essence of Live performance and provide a glimpse behind the scenes at one of the country’s finest music venues.
The images were exhibited at The Richard Goodall Gallery during the summer of 2010, and now have a permanent home in the Hall’s Charles Hallé Room. William Ellis continues to work with us and new images will be added to the collection in future.
