Mozart and Prague – Saturday 25 September

Posted on September 15, 2010

Manchester Camerata 2010/11 Concert Series in Manchester opens on Saturday 25 September with Mozart and Prague at the RNCM Concert Hall.

25 Sept   ‘My Praguers understand me’ – so Mozart infamously commented about the city with which he had such a close rapport.

This is a chance to hear some of Mozart’s most popular and enduring works, which have a connection with Prague, under the baton of the charismatic Spanish conductor Jaime Martin.

Camerata’s principal clarinettist, Fiona Cross, brings her outstanding musicality and virtuosity to Mozart’s ever-popular Clarinet Concerto.

An exciting new work by young composer Gavin Higgins called While Time Gradually Kills Them, inspired by the city of Prague, will also receive its première as part of this evening’s programme.
