Wynne Evans – Tenor |
Charismatic tenor Wynne Evans – best known perhaps for his TV appearance as the cheesy Italian singer in the Go Compare TV adverts – joins Manchester Camerata for its highly popular New Year’s Eve Opera Gala at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, where he’ll be singing alongside Natalya Romaniw.
Wynne Evans is one of the UK’s leading tenors, having sung as a principal with most of the major opera houses and orchestras, including Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Welsh National Opera and English National Opera.
Last year Wynne became the face and voice of the one of UK’s leading price comparison websites Gocompare.com playing the flamboyant charactor Gio Compario. In 2004 Wynne famously responded with ‘Bread of Heaven’ to the New Zealand Haka and has subsequently gone onto sing at over 20 Welsh Rugby Internationals. Whether singing to 75,000 people at the Millennium Stadium, 2,500 people attending an opera, or presenting in the radio studio, Wynne is equally at home. His personality combined with the fact that he has trained and performed at the very highest level has made him into a polished, unique and versatile performer. |
