Manchester Camerata’s Quartet Inventions project is almost complete; click below to hear some of the new music for string quartet written by residents of Florence Grogan Residential Care Home in Blacon, Chester
Quartet Inventions is an opportunity for older people drawn from various groups in Blacon to try their hand at composition.
Participants have been working with a composer and musicians from Manchester Camerata to explore different musical styles and write their own works for string quartet, which have now been recorded. All of the pieces were performed and recorded by Manchester Camerata musicians at a sharing performance at the community centre on 15 December 2010. The second stage of the project will soon be coming to an end and we’ll have another piece for string quartet to share with you. This project is supported by: |
