Ulverston’s Urban Symphony

| At the end of November Manchester Camerata will embark upon the latest of this season’s ‘Urban Symphony’ projects, which are associated with concerts in both Manchester and at several of the orchestra’s regional venues – this month it’s the turn of Ulverston
Using architecture as the inspiration for a new composition, children from Croftland Junior School will work with Camerata’s Amina Hussain and Simon Davies, composer Andy Smith and film maker Will Robinson; the elegant Coronation Hall, venue for the orchestra’s concerts in the town will be the architectural starting point. |

The hall’s English Renaissance style is characterized by its classically styled columns and geometric designs.
The children may also enjoy looking for the famous mouse, which is hidden amongst the carvings on the ceiling. The location of the mouse must be one of the best-kept secrets of Ulverston!
The children’s musical and visual creation and its inspiration will come together on 2nd December in a pre concert performance at the hall at 6.30pm.
