Janacek, Mozart And Haydn In Bridlington
Date: Sunday 13th October 2013 14:00
Venue: The Spa Bridlington, Bridlington
The multi-award-winning French pianistJean-Efflam Bavouzetreturns in a concerto double-bill – Mozart&s charmingPiano Concerto no.17and Haydn&s Piano Concerto in D. Haydn and Jan&a’ÜÎçek, often undeservedly overshadowed respectively by Mozart and Dvo’Ä_Ü¢&ak, are two composers drawn to the earth – Haydn to the Hungarian character he picked up in his isolation at Esterhazy Palace, Jan&a’ÜÎçek to his native Czech folklore. Jan&a’ÜÎçek&sSuiteis a gorgeously lyrical, folk-infused work for string orchestra. Haydn&s emotionalTrauerorMourningSymphony, full of endless characters and colours, will bring the programme to a dramatic conclusion.
“I was cut off from the world. There was no one to confuse or torment me, and I was forced to become original.”JosephHaydn
