Talking Point, 6:30pm A free informal discussion about the music with some of the performers in the Coro auditorium. Manchester Camerata’s opening concert of the Ulverston 2009/2010 season combines a spirited mix of magic and fire with a sprinkling of Mediterranean spontaneity. Cimarosa’s music is very like that of his contemporary, Mozart; the Concerto for Two Flutes is engaging and buoyant. De Falla&s El Amor Brujo, which features the famous Ritual Fire Dance, is in contrast seductive, passionate and theatrical whilst Mendelssohn&s most famous symphony evokes the relaxed pleasures of Italy.
