Mozart At The Muni
Date: Sunday 14th October 2012 14:30
Venue: The Muni Theatre, Colne
For Camerata’s opening concert in Colne the spotlight falls on Camerata’s principal horn player, Naomi Atherton, who will perform one of Mozart’s favourite concertos, his Horn Concerto no.4. Two twentieth century British string masterpieces are featured, Holst’s ever popular dance-infused St Paul’s Suite and Elgar’s Sospiri (meaning sighs), a melodic work of tragic beauty. There is also the opportunity to hear Haydn’s Symphony no.44, ‘Trauer’ or mourning, a dramatic and emotionally wrenching masterpiece.
