Mozart Flute Harp Concerto In Ulverston

Date: Thursday 19th September 2013 19:30

Venue: Coronation Hall, Ulverston

We celebrate Britten&s centenary year in a programme coupling the youthful composer&s work with that of a young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with whom he had such a close affinity. Britten&s Simple Symphony and Prelude and Fugue show a young composer in total mastery of his craft. We continue our Mozart concerto cycle with one of Mozart&s most loved of concertos, for flute and harp, featuring our principal flautist Amina Hussain and former harpist to the Prince of Wales Claire Jones. The programme concludes with the eighteen year old Mozart&s 29th Symphony, a work brimming with energy, invention and pure joy.
