As part of Newark Music Club’s concert series, Manchester Camerata is delighted to travel to Kelham Hall, Newark to perform a beautiful programme of music which features internationally acclaimed cellist Natalie Clein.
Camerata have performed with Natalie Clein on a number of occasion, notably an acclaimed performance of the Shostakovich Cello Concerto at The Bridgewater Hall. This concert showpieces Hadyn’s C major Cello Concerto, a piece which was only rediscovered in 1961. It is now a staple of the cello repertoire and particularly admired for its virtuoso writing for the solo instrument.
Also on the programme are Handel’s upbeat Arrival fo the Queen of Sheba, Elgar’s nostalgic Serenade for Strings, Barber’s atmospheric Adagio for Strings and Mozart’s characteristically buoyant Symphony no.29.
