The shimmering images of a hot afternoon and the poetry of romantic love on a summer evening form the heart of this concert, alongside the intensely rich textures of a Brahms sextet arranged here for larger string forces.The concert includes a new work by Steven Jackson who took part in the recent Manchester Composers’ Workshop Day.
