Manchester Camerata meets Mozart in a concert that’s guaranteed to be an enchanting festival opener.

The Camerata’s wind soloists are joined by Maestros of Tomorrow – exciting young conducting talent from the Royal Northern College of Music – to present a programme packed with Mozart’s melodies and lyrical laments.

Remember the moment in Amadeus where Salieri first encounters the music of the impish genius and proclaims: “It seemed to me that I was hearing the voice of God”? That was the sublime Serenade in Bb – dubbed the Gran Partita.

The evening also features Anna Appleby’s Marriage of Figaro-inspired Federalizing Zoo, and William Alwyn’s swirling and succulent Concerto for Fluteand Eight Wind Instruments.
