The Body Band

Throughout the 2008/09 season Manchester Camerata has been delivering Body Band workshops across the North West of England. Working with composer Emily Howard and musicians from the Camerata, pupils have composed their own brand new pieces of “organ” music, using the functions of the body’s internal organs as inspiration!
Each school has then had a world premiere performance of the new work by the children and professional musicians, whilst simultaneously revising the human biology aspects of the Key Stage 2 Science curriculum… almost without realising!
