UpClose: Aziz Ibrahim – From Lahore To Longsight
Date: Wednesday 11th October 2017 19:30
Venue: HOME, Manchester
There will be a pre-concert talk with Aziz and friends at 6:30pm.
Master collaborator Aziz Ibrahim (Stone Roses/Paul Weller) teams up with ‘probably Britain’s most adventurous orchestra’ – Manchester Camerata. This night offers a radical orchestral interpretation of original compositions and his debut album Lahore to Longsight, which charts the journey of his father from a Partition to Manchester and the path to self-identity and acceptance, for a son torn between vastly different cultures. Special guests Kaviraj Singh (santoor) and Dalbir Singh Rattan (tabla).
