We’re not just the gatekeepers of tradition – we use the past masters to inspire the way we interact with music in 2018. That’s why on this evening of folk tradition we’re featuring one of the best new musical talents in the UK – the captivating Jess Gillam (Classical Brit Awards Winner 2018). In Manchester’s oldest venue we bring you a young talent that will change the way you listen to folk forever.

We’ve worked with Jess on putting together a playlist with a variety of saxophone folk songs. It includes selected pieces from the programme, Jess’ own choices and her latest singles.

We’re proud to share the first in a series of special films we’ve had commissioned by local auteurs, Low Four Studio. Collaborations, showcases Manchester Camerata’s artistic partner model, which under the auspices of Music Director, Gábor Takács-Nagy, sees the city’s ‘experimental orchestra’.
