The Whitworth reopens on Sunday 15 February. And to celebrate the gallery&s development – alongside ten opening exhibitions, new commissions indoors and out, and the remarkable achievements of MUMA (McInnes Usher McKnight Architects) – our friends at The Whitworth have put together a Valentine weekend&s worth of art, music, talks, walks, performance, literature, family fun and a fire and light show.The reopening celebrations will close with the premiere of Whitworth Letters, animmersive work by our Composer-in-Residence of 2013-14, LauraBowler, which will explore the lives of people who have contributed in various waysto the Whitworth. The programme features music by founder of the New Music Manchestergroup Peter Maxwell Davies whilst taking inspiration from artists associated with theWhitworth.
