Youth Forum Amaze With Fresh Twist On Strauss

Manchester Camerata’s Youth Forum returned to The Bridgewater Hall on Saturday 22nd February for their REmix pre-concert performance as part of the Strauss’s Voice festival.
The Youth Forum were engaged in intensive workshops at UKFast in Manchester over the last two weeks, creating new ‘remixes’ of the Strauss pieces featured in the Camerata evening concert: Metamorphosen and Meinem Auge.
Using their range of talents in music and drama, the young people developed new material from scratch based on their interpretation of Strauss’s pieces alongside a Camerata composer, DJ, vocal coach and musicians.
Harmonies, structures and motifs from the original pieces became both acoustic songs and electronic music which were fresh, modern and creative.
