Camerata Leader Announcement
Posted on April 23, 2014
As our 13/14 season comes to a close in May 2014, leader Giovanni Guzzo will be moving on to pursue new musical ventures.
The musical partnership between Giovanni, Gábor and the orchestra over the past four years has been truly inspiring. Giovanni is a fantastic musician and we’d like to thank him for the commitment, dedication and musicianship he has brought to the orchestra since July 2010.
Chief Executive, Bob Riley, says: ‘It’s been a real pleasure working with Giovanni. He’s an exceptional musician and we wish him all the very best and look forward to performing together in the future.’
Giovanni says: ‘I feel so honoured and lucky to have been a part of such a fantastic ensemble. The musicianship, warmth, commitment and friendship of my Camerata colleagues are unlike anything I have experienced anywhere else.’
You can hear Giovanni live with Camerata at Manchester’s Albert Hall on Sunday 27 April and as soloist at our season finale on Saturday 24 May at The Bridgewater Hall, as he joins internationally acclaimed pianist Benjamin Grosvenor and Camerata principal cello, Hannah Roberts, for Beethoven’s Triple Concerto.
